How to fix : Safari not playing embedded YouTube videos


Lot of Mac users reported this issue. Safari suddenly stopped playing embedded YouTube videos and its display error message “An error occurred, please try again later”. Users can watch the embedded videos directly in YouTube. Also they can view them embedded in FireFox.

This problem happened in OS X 10.6.3, Safari 5.0.2, Safari 6.

Solution 1 :-

Go to  Safari -> preferences.

Click the Security tab. Then click “show cookies” button under the Accept Cookies area.

Click the search field and type youtube into the search. selected them all, and remove it.

Also accept all cookies.

Solution 2:-

Reset Safari.

Solution 3:-

Enable Plug-ins. Go to Safari -> Preferences -> Security

Web Content: Click in the box for “Enable Plug-ins”.

Solution 4:-

  • From the Safari menu bar, choose Safari -> Preferences.
  • Then select Extensions tab.
  • Turn off extensions one by one. quit Safari.
  • Relaunch the Safari to test.

Also Remove “google disconnect” extension if you installed.

Embedded YouTube videos will load if you log-in as a guest user or another user on Mac.
