How to fix : Deleted emails keep coming back on iPhone

This issue mostly happened after users added their email account from comcast.net, Gmail and AOL to iPhone. When they deleted emails from iPhone, they keep coming back.

So how to fix this issue?

Are you use same account on the another device like MacBook? Try to check preferences on your MacBook Pro or iMac and see how it is handling deleted messages.

  • Try to change your system preference under Accounts -> Advanced -> Remove copy from the server after retrieving a message and change it to “immediately”.

Fix 2:-

If you are using Gmail, go to the SPAM folder and delete all of them forever.

Fix 3:-

Reboot your iPhone and try to delete it.

Fix 4:-

Delete archived messages in your Comcast account.

Hi,
Didn't work. I have gmail on my iPhone 6S and can't try "to change your system preference under Accounts -> Advanced -> Remove copy from the server after retrieving a message and change it to “immediately", because I don't have the options passed advance. It started off happening once in a while but now seems to happened every time I delete it.

I suffered this for 4 months after getting an iPhone 6s Plus. I tried everything, even calling my server (Comcast). I had 20,000 that kept returning. Finally I deleted the email account on my phone and reinstalled it. IT WORKED! It was like a miracle. Try it. If it worked for me it surely will work for you.

I have a 5s for work and it doesn't matter if it's my work email or my gmail- they continue to return to my email-unopened and unread. Almost daily. Apple products are just JUNK now- period. I NEVER had these issues with my Blackberry- EVER. These phones are NOT suitable for work. I despise this phone but had no choice to move to it. You have a long way to go Apple. PS. NONE of your forums have resolution to this problem. NONE!!!!!!

I personally tried this and it does work because all my emails kept coming back this is the correct answer DELETE THE EMAIL ACCOUNT ON YOUR I PHONE AND THAN REINSTALLED IT

Apple product quality is progressively declining. I guess Mr. Cook is more focused on keeping his investors happy rather than maintaining standards set by Mr. Jobs. I purchased an iPhone 6S and it's not just the same as before.

I have 1 5 and just a couple of months ago I started getting hundereds of deleted eMails back again. I tried calling Apple's number and was told I had to pay 29,95 euros or (in effect) go to hell andf sort out my own problem.
I have tried deleting the account and then reinstalling it; I now have (according to my icon) 8,888 mails. I have not tried counting them to determine the veracity, but there are a hell of a lot.
Yesterday I installed the latest software, and whereas I could in the past use the "delete all" option, I now only have "delete" for individual mails. I would love to manually delete them all, but 8,888 times?
This never happened until a couple of months ago, so it is not a server problem, it is an Apple problem and they are doing nothing about it.
The first Apple I ever used was an Apple Lisa back in 1984. I have always used Apple, and Apple used to like its customers. Now they do not give a damn, and as far as customer respect is concerned they might as well sell the company to a hedge fund that is at least blatantly out to f*ck its customers.

Can't delete any messages, tried all advice given.. I cant even move them into trash! It says inbox empty, so I go to trash to delete them there, also empty, so I go back to inbox and they the stubborn little things are.. Again!!! I have an I phone 5…
