Sorry – I tried all of this and it didn't work. After deleting and re-adding my Yahoo account, now NOTHING shows up in mail. None of the old emails in my inbox and none of the emails in any of my folders. I can access my email account through Safari on the iPhone just fine but that is a total P in the A and the reason I only use the Mail App to begin with. Attempting a "factory restore" as soon as my phone finishes backing-up.

None of the listed worked for me. What worked for me was:

1. From Home Screen Settings->Notifications->Mail
2. Choose Exchange Email
3.Turn on "Show on Lock Screen"

Got from https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6548202?start=60&tstart=0

Before upgrading to new phone/iOS8 this always worked. It seems like this was a new OS 8 setting. Also it's worth noting that I have 2 e-mail accounts on my phone. My gmail (default) had these already enabled, my corporate exchange did not, adding to confusion. It's possible Apple only enabled the default if there were multiples during the OS migration.

The Real Solution:

So my exchange email didn't sync up either. I typed all the information in and it said it verified the account but when i tried to check my mail from my iphone there was nothing there.

Solution:

It was my exchange server who was blocking it from syncing!!! My exchange server only allows 4 (mobile) "partnerships" and I had my old iphone devices and a couple other tablets I know longer use.

You have to log onto to your OWA (Outlook Web App) or your exchange servers website remove your old mobile devices that you aren't using. It's usually under "settings" or "options" and then there should be an option for "mobile phones" or something of that nature.

Work for me right away.

none of these things have worked on my i phone or i pad – my phone gets bt mail but can't send and my i pad wasn't sending bt mail so i deleted the account in working through the above but cannot now reload it all. I keep getting error messages saying that user name or password not recognised. For a company making record profits to push out software upgrades without testing them properly is very poor. congratulations apple on removing my ability to send emails on my mobile devices!!!!!!

Hi

Just re-enter your password & validate it, certainly it will work.
No need to reconfigure exchange server 🙂

Thanks
Ashish

I had the same problem. Solution 3 worked for me. I followed every step exactly how it was noted and it worked. Thanks. This has been a thorn in my side for a long time now.

Thanks…. Push was not working for my Yahoo account on an iPhone 6 – I did what you suggested, i.e. deleted my password and then added it back. Push now works fine.

My problem started last week when I was on a cruise using the wireless network on the ship and an internal cellular network that was also available from the cruise line.

I just tired Solution#3. (Deleting the account and resetting the network) And it worked!

None of these work for me. Not on
iPhone or iPad. I have 2 email accts. Gmail works, Yahoo does not. I deleted Yahoo and added back. I too, don't show anything now in boxes or folders. HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm having the same issue. Sprint has offered three "solutions" of which zero have worked. Please let me know if you find a solution.

None of these worked for me either. The mail icon on the home screen shows how many mail messages I have in my box but when I open the box, it turns to a white screen for about 10 seconds, then returns to the main screen without showing any mail.

you have to go to notifications and select then mail then choose your email account and turn on "show in Notification Center"

Thanks – this worked for me, after trying everything else, including reinstalling the exchange account 3 times. I've wasted an hour on this.
It was fine before. Seems very stupid that an OS update should disrupt such a fundamental reason for having the phone. As a business user, I'm not very impressed, to say the least.

None of those worked for me. Exchange still works but I lose sync with the Outlook.com account which as part of my job is needed for redundancy. It seems the only solution is to wipe the iphone, and not use the backup because the bug seems to be backed up so I have to start new every time a new ios version comes out. I have just upgraded to the latest version 2 days ago, thinking with time they'd have fixed their update like Microsoft does with Windows update, but apparently not.

Below worked for me after my Push stopped working after the iOS9 updates.

1. First delete exchange email account. Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calenders -> Exchange account -> Delete Account.

2. Turn off phone for about 10 seconds.

3. Setup your exchange email account using Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calenders -> Add Account. Fill all settings and make sure you will see tick marks.

4. Make sure under Fetch new data, Push button is on (green) and your email account is set to Push

This worked for me. Push was working great for Outlook.com with Exchange closed. Then stopped working after iOS 9 update. Followed Sharon's simple advice and it is working again! Thanks.

I Have tried some of these on iphone 6s plus but in vain -issue i am having is that i am not getting the 'Push' option under the 'select schedule' for my work emails being hosted by 'hostgator' -i only have option of either 'fetch' or 'manual'. My yahoo account offers all 3 options -push/fetch/manual but my gmail and work email accounts offer only fetch and manual. I'm a bit over it!

Retyping the password worked for me, however this is a personal phone and I am not using an Exchange email server, just iCloud and Yahoo. iCloud was working as expect; Yahoo was not. These were my steps:
Go into Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Under Accounts, select the account that will not Push (in my case a Yahoo account)
Select the Account (email@host.com >)
Overwrite the password, by typing in the password again
Select Done
Close mail

I had a user no emails showing up in Exchange account.
If none of the other answers work, check the sync items time. most back up time is a few days or a week.
Edit the items to sync to a month or unlimited.
This cleared up the issue.

Worked also for me perfectly.
