iCal not connecting to Google calendar? Here’s how to fix it

Lot of iCal users reported about this issue. iCal showing error message like

iCal - HTTP error 404

Your calendar couldn’t be refreshed

The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/username@gmail.com/user/           //calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/unername@gmail.com/user/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.””

Deleting and re-adding Google calender does not fix the issue. Some times iCal calender did not show any updates.

Some times it shows “Calendar – Updating…” message.

Solution 1:-

Go to Preferences -> Account and un-check the “Enable this account” option. Then re-check it.

lot of iCal users said, after doing this thing annoying iCal alert dialog popup no longer appears.

Solution 2:-

Clear the cache. Remove and re-add your Google account.

Solution 3:-

Remove delegates in iCal.

Go to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect.

Select all calenders and remove delegates in iCal.

Solution 4:-

1. Go to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect

2. Select the calendars your want to sync and choose “Save” option.

3. Launch Calendar app and hit Command-R to refresh & sync calendars.

Solution 5:-

Use CalDav instead of the Google account type and then use full gmail address and password.  Also use ‘www.google.com’ as a web server.
