How to fix "Cannot Turn Off Find My iPhone" error


This is a common problem. iPhone users cannot turn off find my iPhone option. They also can’t find their iPhone using iCloud.com. Also users can’t logout of iCloud.

This problem happened in iOS 7 and iOS 8.1.2. If the users try to turn off Find my iPhone option, they getting error message like “Cannot Turn Off Find My iPhone. There was a problem deregistering this iPhone with iCloud. Try turning Find My iPhone off again”.

Solution 1:-

Perform a recovery-mode restore to fix this issue.

First backup your Apple device using iCloud or iTunes.

Step 1: Just connect your USB cable to computer (not to the iPhone).

Step 2: Turn off your iPhone.

Hold the Sleep/Wake button until red slider appears. Then slide the slider.

or

Hold the Sleep/wake button and Home button together until device turn off.

Step 3: While pressing and holding the iPhone Home button down, connect the USB cable to the iPhone, Your iPhone should turn on.

Continue holding the Home button until you see the iTunes screen. After the screen appears, release the Home button.

Note : If the computer didn’t detect recovery iPhone, reboot the computer and try again.

Solution 2:-

This solution solved some users issue.

Remove the lock code for the telephone. This should allow you to set Find my iPhone to off.

Solution 3:-

Remove your device from icloud.com. Then restart your device. Now you could turn off Find My iPhone.

I had the same issue, I use opendns on my router and had file sharing sites blocked. Guess what iCloud is classed as ??! I couldn't logout or disable find my features or send pics by iMessage. As soon as I added iCloud to the white list it all works….odd one and has been driving me. It's for months.
